Hebertshausen / Karlsfeld / Dachau - top game! The leader of the table receives the runners-up. But in times of the Corona crisis, it's not about points and mastery. The soccer game of TSV Eintracht Karlsfeld against Hallbergmoos scheduled for tomorrow Saturday was canceled - because a player in the Eintracht squad tested positive for Covid 19.

However, there was no official order to cancel. So the matter remained with Rüdiger Meyer, the club's head of Eintracht. Meyer turned to the Health Department and Bavarian Football Association (BFV) for help. His complaint: "I would have liked more support."

The health department simply said that it had to decide whether the game takes place or not. The BFV in turn referred to health and safety authorities. However, the game manager responsible for the regional league had announced that an official document must exist, stating that the players were not allowed to play, said Meyer. Otherwise the game would be considered lost if the game was canceled.

There is no such document. The health department estimates the risk of infection among the young man's teammates as low. The office had asked the infected exactly who he was in contact with during which period and how close this contact was. The player had trained with his comrades once, at that point he did not yet know that he was infected.

According to experts from the Health Department, the Karlsfeld footballers were classified as Category II contacts. If they had been classified in Category I, there would have been an order for domestic quarantine, combined with various requirements. Category II, however, means that only a certain procedure and behavior is recommended. Above all, one should reduce contacts with other people.

So "recommendation", not an "order". In any case, the Karlsfeld kickers met as usual for training. "In our understanding, they were allowed to do that," says Meyer.

Obtain information, classify it, weigh it up, and on a topic as serious as Corona - an immense task with enormous responsibility for a club manager who works on a voluntary basis. In any case, Meyer and his club management staff receive a lot of inquiries from the trainers and parents about the virus crisis. Meyer: "We sit together for hours every day and advise."

Wolfgang Reichelt, spokesman for the district office, can understand Meyer and the others who are now to make decisions. "There is huge uncertainty among people." Reichelt also asks for understanding for the employees in the district office and health office: "We work almost around the clock."

In the late Thursday afternoon, the district office announced that events with 250 to 1000 participants had to be reported immediately (larger ones are prohibited anyway). In cooperation with other authorities and experts, the district office has drawn up a so-called general will. Data is queried in detail (see box). The general decree is also intended to help unsettled organizers, Reichelt said.

The Bavarian Football Association has also responded. Today he wants to decide how the game will continue in general (see also reporting today in local sports).

The good news: The infected Karlsfeld player is fine, he shows almost no symptoms of illness.

The SpVgg Hebertshausen, meanwhile, has completely stopped playing and sports operations with immediate effect. Because of "unclear suspected cases", the board decided to take consequences, the club management said yesterday. This applies to all departments. The decision initially applies until March 31.

All possible events are canceled in the district.
