The Federal Foreign Office has issued an official travel warning for Iran , for example. In addition, Germans are currently prohibited from entering Jordan, El Salvador, Kazakhstan, Jamaica and Grenada . The Marshall Islands and the Kingdom of Bhutan are also cordoned off for German holidaymakers.

Coronavirus entry bans: Several countries require two-week quarantine

Meanwhile, Uganda, Malawi, Chad and North Macedonia are asking tourists from Germany to go to a two-week quarantine on their own after entering the country. Otherwise, they would be forced into “institutional quarantine” at their own expense, according to a security advisory from the Federal Foreign Office. Vietnam has temporarily suspended visa-free travel for Germans, and in Nepal German citizens must obtain a medical certificate before entering the country that they are healthy.

As previously reported, the Italian government declared the entire country a restricted area on Tuesday. However, it is still possible to go to Germany, the Federal Foreign Office said.
