" I have determined today that a state of emergency exists, " said Secretary of State Kyle Ardoin, responsible for organizing elections in Louisiana, at a press conference, deciding that the primary schools would therefore be postponed. Health authorities have reported 33 cases in this state. The Republican primary will also be postponed, but there is no suspicion that Donald Trump will be his party's candidate in November.

As of Tuesday, millions of Americans are called to the polls for other Democratic primaries in four states also affected by the pandemic: Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Ohio.
