The governorates of Quneitra, Hama and Lattakia have implemented sterilization and cleaning campaigns in many government institutions and streets, as part of precautionary measures to address the emerging Corona virus.
The deputy head of the executive office in the governorate, Hussein Ishaq, explained to a SANA reporter that the necessary measures were taken to cleanse and sterilize the governorate, and to provide work supplies such as sterilizers, masks, and spraying mechanisms.
In turn, the director of the General Organization for Drinking Water in Quneitra, Eng. Amin Al-Shamali, indicated that a number of tanks were equipped and supplied with chlorine, as the departments and the public street in Al-Baath city were sprayed, and workers in the units of wells to pump drinking water sterilized and cleaned the tanks.
For his part, Chairman of the Administrative Committee of the Nour Association for Development and Relief Raafat Al-Bakkar drew attention to the importance of participatory work to tackle the Corona virus, while the President of the Al-Bustan National Association branch of the southern region Mamoun newspaper confirmed that a volunteer team from the association was equipped and provided with sterilization requirements to work with the province as one team.
In turn, the director of the General Company for Wool and Designed Carpets, Eng. Muhammad Al-Rajab, indicated that preventive spraying was carried out for all the company's facilities, such as transport mechanisms, bathrooms, laboratory rooms and machines, production halls, and workers' breaks, to be sterilized daily in addition to distributing gags to all workers.
For his part, the director of Cotton Yarns Company in Hama, Engineer Samer Al-Tayyar, said that the company's facilities were sterilized with a focus on industrial security and occupational safety measures, while the director of water resources, Engineer Fadi Abbas, pointed out that the Directorate was cleaned and sterilized daily, and the Directorate organized in cooperation with the Health Directorate a symposium on the virus and ways to prevent it He explained that the Directorate is ready to examine any sample that comes from private or public drinking wells and ensure the safety of the water in them, as it distributes sterile materials free of charge to owners of wells who want to sterilize them with an explanation of how to use them.
The Secretary of the Health Directorate, Bashar Ibrahim, said in a statement to SANA reporter during the sterilization operations in the governorate building and the police leadership today that the directorate formed 4 teams in cooperation with the Syrian Youth Council operating according to a work program to sterilize government departments and each team is headed by a doctor and under the supervision of the assistant director of health.
Ibrahim pointed out that the first sterilization operations in public agencies through which the elements in government offices are trained to perform the required periodic sterilization operations by virtue of the fact that they require continuity and will be the responsibility of the public authority itself indicating that the Directorate provided the best sterilization materials that were scientifically selected by a group of Experienced doctors, while confirming that the Directorate has experience in infection control operations.
For his part, Dr. Mazen Fendi, from the Health Directorate team overseeing sterilization operations, emphasized that the initiative in sterilizing the buildings of public entities aims to teach their employees to follow proper procedures for sterilization according to a program that is followed on a daily basis.
For his part, the director of operations of the Syrian Youth Council, Youssef Al Hayek, pointed out that the volunteer council initiative comes in response from the civil society to support government efforts to tackle the Corona virus, in addition to spreading awareness about ways to enhance personal and public protection and the need to follow more precautions with the distribution of sterile materials and masks.
