According to figures from the Immigration Department, on the third day after the implementation of the new quarantine order, the total number of people entering the country on March 21 was 13,494, down 34% from 20,583 people the day before the effective date (18th). Among them, more than 90% of the immigrants were Hong Kong residents, 6.8% were other visitors, and only 2%, that is, 319 were mainland visitors, and the number of mainland visitors fell by 86%.

There are still three control points that are open: the airport, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and Shenzhen Bay. The overall number of arrivals from the airport dropped from approximately 12,952 on the 18th to 7,116 on the 21st. Among them, Hong Kong residents accounted for about 92%, with 6,547 person-times, which was also a decrease of about 31% from 9,616 person-times on the 18th. The number of mainland residents entering China dropped sharply by 97% from 2,027 on the 18th to 43 on the 21st. Other visitor arrivals also fell from 1,309 on the 18th to 526.

As for the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, the overall number of inbound visitors fell by 11% from 5,883 on the 18th to 5,230 on the 21st, continuing to be dominated by Hong Kong residents. There were 37 visitors from the Mainland on the 21st, the same as on the 18th. There were 388 other visitors and 580 on the 18th.

In addition, in Shenzhen Bay, 1,148 people entered on the 21st, a decrease of about 34% from 1,748 on the 18th, of which 78% were Hong Kong residents.
