In a number of governorates, sterilization campaigns were carried out that included neighborhoods, establishments and schools in parallel with intensified supervision to follow up the implementation of decisions related to the closure, markets, commercial and service areas except for foodstuff centers, pharmacies and private health centers within the framework of the sequential measures taken to address the Corona virus.

In Sweida, the city council intensified its monitoring trips to the markets to ensure the full implementation of the decision to close non-food activities in addition to continuing sterilization campaigns in a number of the city's markets and public facilities within the precautionary measures taken to address the Corona virus.

The President of the City Council, Engineer Bashar Al-Ashqar, stated that three committees had been formed to supervise and implement strictly the decision to close markets, except for foodstuff centers, pharmacies and health centers, pointing out that the workshops of the council and the fire brigade continued sterilization campaigns that today included the city center and some of the surrounding markets and public utilities.

In turn, the head of the Council’s Epidemic Control Committee, Dr. Marwan Azi, explained that the committee continues its rounds to implement the decision to close non-essential commercial activities and to ensure the extent of the commitment of stores excluded from achieving health requirements in the interest of safety and public health, indicating the presence of a response and commitment from most commercial activities, where legal measures will be taken duly Regulation of seizure in case of violation and refraining from self-closing, which includes referring to the judiciary, imposing a fine of 500 thousand to one million pounds and imprisonment from 6 months to three years.

The leader of the Sweida Fire Brigade, Nayef Al-Shaar, also indicated that the regiment's mechanisms continued sterilizing markets, streets, and public facilities through their tanks equipped with the appropriate sterilizers, as part of a plan that includes all parts of the city.

A project program committee affiliated with the Syrian Secretariat for Development in the city of Salkhad, in cooperation with the city council, organized a sterilization campaign targeting the buildings of the Water Corporation, the Educational Complex, and school health and a number of schools.

The head of the project committee in the city of Salkhad Salih Jabour pointed out that the campaign is gaining importance in terms of spreading awareness and delivering a message to the community that it is necessary to adhere to the precautionary aspects of tackling the virus.

The Syrian Trust for Development distributed 1,300 liters of chlorine and 1,000 masks and gloves to 121 committees of project projects in Sweida to participate in sterilization campaigns to tackle the Corona virus.

In Al-Hasakah, the city council resumed the sterilization campaign by spraying the axis of the Souq Al-Hal and a number of main streets.

The President of the City Council, Engineer Adnan Khaju, stated that the campaign is being implemented in cooperation with the Syrian Arab Red Crescent branch by spraying sterile spray material that contains chlorine within a number of main streets in the city center, including the Al-Hal market axis, the streets of the Great Mosque and the President's Square.

In the same context, the Sorouh National Society launched a campaign to sterilize banks operating in the city of Hasaka.

Association Chairman Nizar Al-Agha clarified that the campaign, which lasts for a week, is carried out under the supervision of the Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor and in cooperation with the city council of Hasaka, and includes sterilization of public banks, a number of markets, commercial stores, service departments, places of worship and private ovens in addition to the distribution of gags and medical gloves.

Also, volunteers from the Syrian National Mother Association in the city of Qamishli implemented a sterilization campaign in a number of main streets and some service facilities.

The president of the society, George Malcon, indicated that the campaign included the entrances of buildings, restaurants, service places and public squares in the Al-Wusta neighborhood as a first stage with the aim of assisting government agencies and working collaboratively alongside them to tackle the Corona virus.

In Lattakia, the governorate has developed a plan to sterilize all of the city's streets and streets in cooperation with the directorates of agriculture, technical services, civil defense, the Water and Sewerage Corporation and the fire brigade, as well as the cleaning directorate in the city council.

According to the plan, the city was divided into working sectors in which the mechanisms of each directorate are distributed according to its capabilities, to include all markets, popular neighborhoods, and suburbs of the city, as well as to the centers of the cities of Jableh, Qirdaha and Al-Hafah, and from there to the other administrative units in the governorate countryside.

Lattakia Governor Ibrahim Al-Salem said in a statement to reporters during the launch of the campaign that the capabilities of all the directorates of the province are invested to implement precautionary government measures to address the Corona virus and provide protection for citizens with full coordination and take immediate measures commensurate with each stage, pointing out that sterilization operations are associated with periodic cleanliness campaigns applied.

Al-Salem stressed that a working cell has been formed at the governorate level to follow up on any emergency on the distribution of subsidized materials and bread and the proper application of the new distribution mechanism and prevent congestion.

The director of hygiene in the Lattakia City Council, Engineer Ahmed Faddah, stated that the campaign includes sterilization of all neighborhoods and streets and dividing the city into sectors through which sterilization operations were supported by about 50 tanks, as well as the participation of mechanisms for public agencies in the transport of garbage.

In Hama, the head of the city council, Eng. Adnan Al-Tayyar, stated that today, in cooperation with the Water Resources Directorate and the Water Corporation, most workshops have been sterilized and cleaned in the city's districts and streets where government departments and public facilities are located within the precautionary measures to address the virus, indicating that the streets will be cleaned and sterilized daily.

For his part, Director of Education Yahya Munjid indicated that the salaries of teachers and teachers in governorate schools will be delivered through the school principal or the secretary to reduce congestion, indicating that sterilization and cleaning has been carried out for all the rooms of the building, the main entrance and corridors.

In Tartous, city and municipal councils continue to sterilize streets and neighborhoods to preserve public health.

The engineer, Mazhar Hassan, director of Tartous City, stated that sterilization operations included all major streets inside the city, the vicinity of the old garage market and the Bassam Hamsho market and its surroundings.

In turn, the chairman of the Banias City Council, Engineer Bashar Hamzah, stressed that sterilization campaigns for streets and neighborhoods continue on a daily basis using chlorine and water within a plan dedicated to this end, pointing to the great response of the owners of shops, sports clubs and restaurants to precautionary closure decisions.

The Directorate of Social Affairs and Labor in Homs launched a daily sterilization campaign for the city’s neighborhoods in cooperation with the city council. In coordination with the Homs Health Directorate, a section of the Al Birr Association’s Society and Social Services Hospital was put into service to quarantine cases suspected of being infected with Corona virus and assigned a section for medical isolation in case of any infection with the virus.

Eng. Samar Al-Sibai, Director of Social Affairs and Labor in Homs, explained that 14 community associations and volunteers from Al-Karamah Sports Club participated in the sterilization campaign. The city was divided into nine sectors, noting that the absorptive capacity of Al-Bar Hospital, which was put into service, is currently eight families with intense care and a montor for each One bed and about thirty beds for regular treatment and quarantine, in addition to two ambulances constructed continuously to supply the Al-Nahda Association Hospital and Bab Al-Sibaa 'charity as well.

The director of social affairs and labor in Kenitra, Nizar Hassoun, said in a statement to SANA today to the effective role that some volunteer teams play in contributing to tackling the Corona virus.
