The directorates of the directorates of the internal trade and consumer protection are mobilized around the clock to tighten control on the markets and control any case of price manipulation or violation of food and consumer specifications after a day of applying the government decision to close the markets and commercial activities with the exception of centers and shops selling food and supplies, pharmacies and private health centers.

The director of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection in Damascus, engineer Adi Shibli, told SANA that the Directorate's patrols are in a "state of alert" to tighten control over food stores and take samples of all existing materials to verify if they conform to specifications and monitor compliance with the correct announcement of prices.

Shibli pointed out that there are some cases that characterize some commercial stores from greed, slip away, and raise prices. He said: When these cases are set up, we close the activity directly as a type of severe deterrence.

Shibley said that all the complaints of citizens that are received are dealt with immediately and during the past three days, more than 63 violating stores were closed by raising prices, which constitutes a deterrent factor and restraint for traders in addition to the violator being subjected to a legal penalty that includes the closure and a minimum fine of 150 thousand pounds and may reach the prison.

And about the crowded situations in some ovens, Shibli pointed out that the Internal Security Forces will help in organizing the role and prevent gatherings from occurring.

Shibli explained that the directorate continues to receive citizens' complaints on the assigned number 119 and its social media sites and address them and said: Our elements are present in the markets at all times and until late hours of the night.

In turn, the Director of Consumer Protection at the Ministry of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection Ali Al-Khatib stressed the continuity of consumer protection patrols by intensifying their rounds and raising their readiness around the clock to monitor the work of stores and ovens that were not covered by the closing decision, noting that strict supervision to control monopoly cases and increase prices, especially sterilizers and medical supplies, and on sale outlets Baking from ovens and those accredited to deliver the material to those who deserve it.

For his part, the director of the Syrian Foundation for Trade - Damascus branch, Bashar Hammoud affirmed the continued pumping of foodstuffs to all halls, in addition to supporting them with mobile cars, pointing out that there are 29 halls in Damascus that will continue until 12 o'clock at night to reduce congestion.

Hammoud pointed out that 81 halls of the entire Syrian galleries for trade in Damascus sell subsidized materials on the electronic card in addition to mobile cars equipped with electronic card readers to reduce congestion, indicating that the institution has implemented sterilization campaigns for warehouses and centers with generalization for employees to wear gloves and gags.
