South Korea today announced the lowest number of new cases of coronavirus since its peak reached on February 29th.
Reuters quoted the Korean Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as saying in a statement that it had registered 64 new cases of coronavirus today, taking the number of cases to 8961.
The number of deaths increased by one case to reach 110 cases.
The daily total number showed the continuation of the 12-day downward trend in new cases.
The Korean Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said that 257 patients were discharged from hospitals where they had been isolated for treatment.
South Korea reported more cases of cure in the 13th of this month for the first time since the first case was confirmed on January 20.
