El Salvador's President Nayib Bukele reported that 269 people have been detained for failing to comply with the coronavirus quarantine order. In Ecuador, the former health minister, Catalina Andramuño, resigned due to an alleged lack of resources to deal with the virus. The president, Lenín Moreno, appointed the cardiologist in epidemiology Juan Carlos Zevallos as the new minister. In Guatemala, President Alejandro Giammattei confirmed 19 positive cases in the country. Martín Vizcarra, assured that they amount to 363 cases in the country, being Lima the most infected city. In Peru, an escape attempt was motivated in a Trujillo prison, where 5 inmates and several policemen were injured. This Sunday the birthday of Martín Vizcarra was celebrated in the Government Palace of Lima, respecting the recommended distance to avoid the spread of the covid-19.
