The mayors around Tegernsee are calling for a ban on excursions for Munich residents. Many valley residents agree on Facebook. Ashamed, our author thinks.
The Tegernsee valley gives a terrifying appearance in the Corona crisis. Politically and socially. Hagn's letter may be understandable. In terms of tone ("Who should clear away the Munich filth.") It is completely inadequate. It is all the more appalling how many valley residents like to hit this notch on social media.
Fire letter for Munich excursionists: Completely out of print
The anger that strikes the “Corona-Münchner” has nothing to do with the usual local-against-excursion topic. It becomes a rush. And that already has consequences: Valley residents with Munich company cars no longer trust the streets because they are thrown at them with eggs.
Have they all become coronary? Is this the picture that the Tegernsee valley wants to give at this time? Xenophobic, narrow-minded, fearful? And of all places from such a rich and beautiful region, which also lives from tourism.
Valley ban due to Corona for Munich - Who gives us the right?
And does our residence alone really give us the right? A colleague of mine doesn't have a balcony with a lake view, but a dark one-room apartment on the Mittlerer Ring in Munich. She would like to breathe a little mountain air. Given the current mood in the valley, I have to advise her against and be ashamed of being Tegernsee.
