"I am sure that these rules will be better and better understood, better and better applied by our fellow citizens," insisted the Prime Minister before the deputies. "Obviously, we must point out what is wrong, uncivil or irresponsible behavior, but it must also be said that the majority of our fellow citizens have understood the collective issue and respectfully respect the recommendations that have been made," added Edouard Philippe.

The Prime Minister was questioned by the president of the UDI Jean-Christophe Lagarde on the relevance of closing the food markets, a "brutal" decision which risks "inciting promiscuity" in shopping centers, according to the deputy center -law. "It appeared during the week that a certain number of markets gave rise to insufficient organizational measures and did not correspond to health rules", replied Edouard Philippe.

The mayor "at the heart of the system" is the "best placed" to judge that a market is "necessary and can be organized while respecting health rules" , he estimated.

The Prime Minister announced Monday the tightening of containment measures, with these rules on the markets, or the limitation of physical activity to a radius of one km from home and for an hour at most.
