A group of caregivers filed a complaint against the Prime Minister and the former Minister of Health for "state lie". A petition was posted online on Saturday to support them.

It is a figure that is growing day by day. A petition posted online on change.org on Saturday has already collected more than 200,000 signatures on Thursday, March 26. It supports the complaint filed by a group of more than 600 doctors, named "C19", against Edouard Philippe and Agnès Buzyn. They accuse the Prime Minister and the former Minister of Health of "state lie" . The collective criticizes them for not having sufficiently prepared France for the coronavirus pandemic even though they were, according to them, aware of the risks of the coming crisis.

As proof, they are based in particular on the words of Agnès Buzyn to the World the day after the announcement of confinement, on March 16 . The former Minister of Health, also a LREM candidate in Paris, explained that she had warned the Prime Minister in January that the municipal elections " probably could not be held ". "I knew that the tsunami wave was before us," also regretted Agnès Buzyn.

Giving "a popular force"

On the initiative of the petition, Lucien Cavelier, psychologist in Marseille explains wanting to give "a popular force" to the complaint filed, qualified as "a courageous and necessary act" . "For these doctors, the government was aware of the dangers of the epidemic but did not act early enough or take the right measures, including the storage of masks and the implementation of systematic tests, which would have allowed isolate "healthy carriers" capable of infecting several people, " he said in the presentation text of the petition.

As reported by France Info on Wednesday, five other complaints were filed last Monday. They also target the Prime Minister, the former Minister of Health, but also his successor Olivier Véran. They accuse them of “endangering the life of others” or of “manslaughter” . All are transmitted to the Court of Justice of the Republic, the only body capable of trying ministers for acts committed during the exercise of their functions.
