  • A man from Cologne fights for a million in “Wer wird Millionär” (RTL)
  • Ronhald Tenholte is the first millionaire in four years
  • A fellow candidate causes confusion for Günther Jauch and Tenholte
Cologne - For a whopping four years, Günther Jauch's RTL rate show has made it impossible for anyone to fight their way through the complete questionnaire and take the million home with them. Until Tuesday, March 25th, 2020.

In fact, the winner and newly minted millionaire Ronald Tenholte is only the tenth candidate to succeed in "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?" (RTL) . Moderator Jauch was impressed: "On the outside, he looks absolutely cool, has prepared for the show, says no more words than is actually necessary, is brave at the same time and has a gut feeling."

"Who wants to be a millionaire" (RTL): Ronald Tenholte quickly made it into Günther Jauch's rate show

The 35-year-old Ronald Tenholte, who says he cannot remember any faces, is the second candidate to enter the “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” (RTL) program on this evening. The man who was sitting in the candidate chair a few minutes earlier was also called Ronald, whereupon Jauch asked the audience whether there were "more" Ronalds "here."

However, the operator of a juice bar is the only one who correctly answers the entry question in just over five seconds and thus earns his place opposite Jauch. "What color is the number 3004 in the RAL color system?" "Purple" is his answer.

"Who wants to be a millionaire" (RTL): Tenholte and Jauch chat about ginger

Right at the start of the question and answer session, Ronald Renholte announced that he would only gamble from € 16,000. On this point, however, the candidate is still a long way from the question that will later make him a millionaire , which incidentally has to do with Euro pallets .

Tenholte is the founder and managing director of a smoothie and juice bar in Cologne . "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" (RTL) presenter Jauch would like to know which drink sells best. Tenholte then tells of a so-called ginger shot, a hot ginger smoothie, whereupon the moderator quickly grimaces. “Everything with ginger in it” is somehow not his thing, even if it is very healthy, says Jauch.

"Who wants to be a millionaire" (RTL): Tenholte masters Günther Jauch's questions

Jauch's first questions pose no problems for Tenholte. Neither word games, questions about television programs or the correct spelling of the Brazilian cocktail "Caipirinha" make the 35-year-old particularly pondering. Because even if alcoholic drinks are not his specialty, he knows the correct spelling because he used to work in a bar.

It is professional experience like this that should later make the candidate a winner of "Wer wird Millionär" (RTL) . The business lawyer, who is a graduate in business law, really comes to thinking about the 8,000 euro question for the first time.

"Who wants to be a millionaire" (RTL): Jauch's question makes Tenholte sweat

Ronald Tenholte starts to sweat for a moment because of the question "Which character's performance has already been awarded an Acting Oscar twice?" Because he is not quite sure whether Anthony Hopkins for his multiple portrayal of the cannibal Dr. Hannibal Lecter has already won several Oscars. The possible answers for "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" (RTL) were:

  • A: Dr. Hannibal Lecter
  • B: Forrest Gump
  • C: Joker
  • D: Truman Capote

In the end, however, he committed himself to the fact that the golden trophy was awarded twice for the representation of the “ Joker ”. The winners were Heath Ledger (2009) and most recently Joaquin Phoenix on February 9th, 2020.

"Who wants to be a millionaire" (RTL): Tenholte spent weeks preparing for questions from Günther Jauch

According to his own statement, the Cologne native prepared with “apps and board games” “for weeks” for “Wer wird Millionär” (RTL) . He learned one thing: "My gut feeling is always 90 percent correct," said the candidate. He pursued this strategy for a long time so that Tenholte could save his jokers for the last four questions.

When Jauch asks for 64,000 euros about the country in which the winner of the 2019 German Book Prize was born, Tenholte must use the public joker because it has to “fit in with literature”. The answer options were:

  • A: Rhodesia
  • B: Yugoslavia
  • C: Ceylon
  • D: Tibet

Fortunately, since the RTL program was recorded weeks ago, the future millionaire Tenholte actually had an audience who could help him with the correct answer, Yugoslavia .

“Who wants to be a millionaire” (RTL): Jauch's penultimate question is tough

Before the million-dollar question is about the whole thing, the candidate has to use the remaining telephone joker for the penultimate question: "The natural fate of which plant provides that the flower inevitably leads to the death of most species?" .

  • A: Bamboo
  • B: Ginkgo
  • C: Rhododendron
  • D: Eucalyptus

However, the 35-year-old dares to gamble, as initially promised, and trusts his phone joker: bamboo is the right choice.

Incredible tension in "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" (RTL): Confusion with Jauch and Tenholte

At the end of "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire" (RTL), however, the candidate will be even tougher, because even for an expert, there would be the last question in itself: "The classic, standardized EPAL 1 Euro pallet consists of 78 nails, nine Blocks and how many boards? ".

Tenholte is tormented, hesitates for a long time and takes just under twenty minutes to commit. His own professional experience also plays a role in his answer, as Tenholte receives his goods on Euro pallets every week. Possible answers were:

  • A: Nine
  • B: Ten
  • C: Eleven
  • D: Twelve

One of Tenholte's fellow candidate, Dominik Lutzke, a roofer by profession, claims to know the correct answer shortly beforehand and writes it to Günther Jauch in the palm of his hand. The moderator then shows the candidate, who can hardly stay on the chair, what was scribbled in the palm of his hand. Of course, only after Tenholte had already logged in his answer: eleven .

Incredible suspense in “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire” (RTL): Tenholte becomes a millionaire in Jauch

Günther Jauch has a twelve. The candidate turns pale. But then roofer Lutzke spoke up and claimed that the answer was eleven.

Why then did he write the twelve down, asked Jauch. The moderator had just confused him, Lutzke says, after doing the math again.

Ronald Tenholte looks around in confusion. Instead of the dissolution, there is also advertising. But then a Euro pallet is carried into the studio - and it is actually made of eleven boards. Tenholte is allowed to leave the RTL studio as a millionaire .

"Who wants to be a millionaire" (RTL): That is what the millionaire is planning after triumphing with Günther Jauch

In any case, he wanted to continue operating his smoothie and juice bar "Kaltpresse" in Cologne's Südstadt , because it was "really a matter close to his heart" for him.

The 35-year-old also plans to buy an electric car. He would like to use another part of the profit for his upcoming wedding. Günther Jauch even spoke to the fiancé after Tenholte became a millionaire .

Not a million, but a large sum was also cleared by a woman from the Northeim district. In addition, a woman from Kassel was a guest at the RTL talk show "Marco Schreyl" and spoke about her addiction to change.
