Every morning at exactly that time, for nearly 46 years, the caretakers of the African savannah open on the safari go out to feed the animals.
An area is a vast area of about one thousand acres with about 900 animals from 22 species. It includes more than 100 zebras, 25 hippos, 10 rhinos, more than 200 Thomson military and a huge variety of African animals.
Feeding this morning is a golden opportunity not only to feed the animals in a nutritious mix, but also to watch and watch them closely as they approach the tractor and eat.
The safari handlers know the animals so well that they pay attention to all the details and all the subtleties. Who approaches and who doesn't, who comes first and who comes second and who comes last. Did one of the males get injured during the night with another male? Is one of the females breeding and what the general condition of the animals is.
During the meal, the animals can be given the medicines they need. During our winter days, our savannah is filled with many migratory birds, passing or wintering here, these days we add more food and indulge them in rich foods.
