The city council postponed the decision about inner-city signs for the bath house in Waldram

Wolfratshausen– The Badehaus-Verein wishes a large sign on Autobahn 95, which draws travelers from near and far to the documentation center in the Waldram district. In this connection, the city council had promised the volunteers a grant of 20,000 euros - however, the calculation was made without the South Motorway Directorate. The so-called decision maker rejected the request; both at the request of the municipality and upon personal request from the chairman of the association, Dr. Sybille Krafft.

The reason: There is only a sign "if it is a destination of outstanding tourist importance", Mayor Klaus Heilinglechner (BVW) reported in the recent city council meeting. "Among other things, there must be permanent, year-round public access with normal daily opening times," the city hall manager quoted the motorway management. The bathhouse in Waldram, which is currently only accessible for three days, does not meet this requirement. Alternatively, the association has applied to use the 20,000 euros that have been made available in the municipal budget for the current year for "intra-local and cross-regional signage for motor vehicle traffic as well as for cyclists and pedestrians". However, the city council postponed the decision on this application - only the three-member Greens faction disagreed.

Helmut Forster (now list WOR) demanded that a signage concept "including costs" had to be presented first. The 20,000 euros are not - as the Green City Councilor Dr. Hans Schmidt had declared - a "household remnant". The money that was earmarked for a freeway sign, in short, to invest in a “still unclear project” was out of the question for the city council's business consultant. Forster: "That would be a blank check, and there is no blank check."

After Susanne Leonhard, head of the building department, explained that a signage concept would be developed promptly for the bath house, City Councilor Dr. Manfred Fleischer (now list WOR) made an application to the rules of procedure: postpone the association's application until the concept including the cost statement is on the table. The mayor and 19 other councilors voted in favor of this approach - the Greens alone voted against it. In this context, Fleischer asked the administration to check whether the sign "Internationale Flößerstadt" on the A 95 could not move to the place where the fairytale forest was advertised until a few months ago. The alternative location is much more obvious from Fleischer's point of view. And Wolfratshausen "is open all year round," said the Waldramer with a smile. cce
