Farchant / Allerhausen - "It was like in the war, the chunks shot down like fragments of grenade": Bernhard Bruckdorfer from Farchant is still out of his mind. His car was hit on Autobahn 9 near Allershausen by heavy ice sheets that fell from a truck. He was on the way to his daughter in Regensburg on Monday morning. At around 8.15 a.m., the pensioner described the situation, drove onto the median and overtook a long column of trucks. Bruckdorfer was traveling at a good 140 kilometers an hour. Suddenly "thick ice sheets rained down on me", according to him from a white truck, a 12 or 14 tonne truck with a Dingolfinger license plate. “It was a huge ice field that the truck lost there. The chunks flew towards me like in a science fiction film. ”
Safety glass breaks - Farchanter hardly sees anything in the car anymore
About a meter wide part of the heavy debris crashed into the windshield. "There was a big bang, then I saw almost nothing anymore." The safety glass of the window was smashed and bent inside the vehicle. "It looked like a spider web," says Bruckdorfer. He only slurped out over a 20 by 30 centimeter piece of undamaged pane. Bruckdorfer managed to overtake the column. He tried to stop the driver of the white truck with hand signals. Vain. "They all drove on." The farchanter stopped in the lane. Another driver stopped, he had observed everything and noted a number plate, unfortunately wrong. Bruckdorfer: "It didn't fit the truck."
Witnesses to the accident are being sought
He is glad that almost nothing happened: "Thank goodness I only got a few scratches, but that could have been bad." The damage is 7,000 euros. Bruckdorfer is now asking witnesses who have observed the incident to contact the police in Freising on 0 81 61/95 20. This has already seen similar cases at Garching and Schleißheim.
