(CNN Spanish) - The Argentine government decided early this Friday morning to extend the closure measures on all its borders until March 31.
The new decision affects both nationals and foreigners. The decree reaches "the people residing in the country who are abroad and the Argentineans and Argentines residing abroad, as of the entry into force of this measure."
The few exceptions will be flights that are already in transit and whose date of entry into Argentina does not exceed 48 hours from the effective date of this decree. This border closure measure can be extended or reduced in time, depending on the evolution of events related to the control of the coronavirus pandemic.

The Argentine Chancellery, through its representations abroad, will be in charge of attending to the needs of those Argentines who cannot return to the country due to the entry into force of this total closure of borders. The Ministry of Security has been charged with complying with these new measures.
