The new coronavirus has caused 299 new deaths recorded in hospital in 24 hours in France, bringing the death toll to 1995 since the start of the epidemic, French health authorities announced on Friday.

According to the Director General of Health Jérôme Salomon, 15,732 patients are hospitalized including 3,787 in intensive care, a new influx of 412 people in a single day.
