Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Chinese counterpart, Wang Yi, stressed in a telephone conversation today, the necessity of developing the strategic partnership between the two countries and cooperation in combating the Corona epidemic.
Russia Today quoted Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova as saying that "the two sides discussed the situation that arose due to the epidemic and praised bilateral cooperation and exchange of experiences in combating the epidemic and preventing its spread," noting the effectiveness of the measures taken by the two countries to confront the virus.
Zakharova added that the two sides stressed taking unified positions on international issues and working to strengthen political coordination, including with regard to the responsibilities of Moscow and Beijing in the area of maintaining security and peace as permanent members of the UN Security Council.
