The district is taking a new step in the fight against Corona: From now on there is a medical coordinator for all hospitals and rehabilitation clinics in the Oberland emergency services area. It's Dr. Martin Dotzer from UKM Murnau.
District - On Tuesday evening, March 24th, District Administrator Andrea Jochner-Weiß and her counterparts Josef Niedermaier (Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen) and Anton Speer (Garmisch-Partenkirchen) sat in a conference call and coordinated their approach to the corona crisis. Result: There is now a medical director in the disaster management management group - who coordinates the flow of Corona patients and their care in the three districts. The trio agreed on a name: Dr. Martin Dotzer. The 56-year-old is a senior doctor in anaesthesiology at the Murnau accident clinic. Dotzer found out about his order on Wednesday morning and agreed. He is exempt from the UKM.
Arrangement from Munich
The background is an order from the Ministry of Health on Tuesday: bed and treatment capacities as well as patient flows in the respective region of a rescue association should be "overruled" in the fight against the pandemic, according to the 17-page general will. Jochner-Weiß has been chair of the Oberland Association based in Weilheim for six years. "We immediately agreed who we wanted for it," she says of Dotzer.
Already in the ambulance service
The UKM doctor is already working in the special-purpose association for the emergency services. "The rehab clinics are also challenged." Jochner-Weiß cites the Höhenried clinic in Bernrieder as an example; the facility is already represented at the district office at every crisis meeting. The district administrator speaks of "pure corona clinics" that could be set up - for which the ventilators would have to be contracted.
Alternatives to clinics
In plain language it also says: If the hospitals can no longer do it, other locations are needed for care. Alternatives are already being sought, especially with two-bed rooms including a wet room. Jochner-Weiß currently sees no bottleneck in the district. Tents and gyms are not necessary. "We have enough vacancies," she says, referring to medical facilities and recreational and educational homes. "We have already received offers from hotels."
