The new coronavirus pandemic has killed more than 30,000 people worldwide, according to an AFP count based on official data, Saturday at 7 p.m.

At least 30,003 deaths have been recorded, of which more than two thirds in Europe (21,334). With 10,023 deaths, Italy is the country most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, ahead of Spain (5,690) and China (3,295), the initial focus of the contagion. At least 640,778 cases of infection have been officially diagnosed worldwide since the end of December.
