One of Geretsried's main traffic axes will be closed for two and a half years from the end of March: the center of Egerlandstrasse will turn into a giant construction site.

Geretsried - The reason is the expansion of the central underground car park and the construction of the BGZ 2. At the beginning of April, the building cooperative Geretsried (BG) wants to start the civil engineering work. As reported, 90 apartments, retail and restaurants are to be built. For this purpose, it is expected that the Egerlandstraße between the confluence of the Fasanenweg and house numbers 61/78 will be completely blocked from March 30th. "The work will start on our or on the public property, specifically on the side in front of the BGZ, using special foundation engineering equipment", explains Ursula Hölzl from the building cooperative. Subsequently, the civil engineering will gradually "walk" around the western side of the construction pit. According to Hölzl, the shoring work will begin in front of the Egerlandstrasse 56 / 56a property. "A construction fence will enclose and secure the construction site."

Since problems can unexpectedly arise during this work, exact scheduling is not possible. Furthermore, for security reasons, it could happen that access is temporarily restricted. As a rule, work is carried out on the construction site from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on weekdays. As during the demolition of the old apartment blocks, the strength of the vibrations is measured by a service provider, Hölzl assures. "This ensures a permanent, accompanying measurement, and the work can be monitored and documented seamlessly."

The city will set up detours to bypass the construction site. "The same applies to pedestrian and bicycle traffic," announces Thomas Loibl, city spokesman. If you want to go from north to south or vice versa, it is best to drive around the center on the B11. Böhmerwaldstraße is intended as a bypass. Tempo 30 already applies there. In addition, large parts of the street are prohibited from stopping.

No direct passage

Karl-Lederer-Platz gets its finishing touches until June this year. As reported, the top layer still has to be applied there. This work is expected to be completed by June. Nevertheless, during the construction phase on Egerlandstrasse, there will be limited access to cars: via Hermann-Löns-Weg, Graslitzer Straße and Martin-Luther-Weg (one-way street). The central underground car park, Graslitzer Straße and the parking spaces in front of the Ratsstuben can be reached via the B11. There will be no direct passage from Egerlandstrasse. The Green Market may be moving back to Karl-Lederer-Platz before the work is done. The city is currently examining this.

Loibl emphasizes that during the construction phase, it is "always guaranteed" that all local retailers, service providers and practices are within easy walking distance. The same applies to the delivery. Loibl: "Of course, the escape routes are also guaranteed at all times." In order to connect the areas Egerlandstrasse North / South with Karl-Lederer-Platz, replacement footpaths will be set up. Appropriate signage and floor markings are intended to show pedestrians the way. To get from Karl-Lederer-Platz to Egerlandstrasse Süd, pedestrians have to switch to Lenauweg and the parking lot at the Isarkaufhaus; In order to reach the northern part of the street, passers-by walk the Hermann-Löns-Weg, then on the footpath between the BGZ and the underground car park towards Egerlandstraße.

Limited parking space

The construction site also limits the number of parking spaces. The city tries to compensate for this with additional parking spaces. You can park on the Böhmwiese (125 parking spaces), in front of the Ratsstuben (23 parking spaces), behind the town hall (21 parking spaces), in the underground car park (82 parking spaces), on Egerlandstraße Nord (30 parking spaces), in front of the Protestant Church (25 parking spaces) ) and on Hermann-Löns-Weg (4 short-term parking spaces, maximum 15 minutes with parking disc) and from July opposite the town hall (6 short-term parking spaces).

Changed bus routes

During the construction phase, the city bus travels along Böhmerwaldstraße. "The center is connected via the Fasanenweg and Egerlandstrasse Süd," said the city's press officer, Thomas Loibl. Adjustments will be made at the following stops: Graslitzer Straße: The stop will be relocated to Kirchplatz 1 and 2 in both directions. Fasanenweg: Instead of the regular stop, the stop at Egerlandstrasse south of the intersection to Fasanenweg (originally lines 370, 376 and 379) is approached in both directions. Rübezahlstraße: The stop is also served. Geltinger Weg and Rathaus: Both stops are no longer required.
