The incumbent district administrator is 46-year-old Stefan Löwl from the CSU . In 2014 he was elected for the first time in a short run-off election and will stand for re-election in 2020. His challengers are Hubert Böck (54, SPD), Achim Liebl (60, Greens), Damar Wagner (49, Free Voters), Sebastian Leiß (30, Free Voters), Jonathan Westermeier (27, Die Linke) and Hauke ​​Stöwsand (44 , ÖDP).
