Update of March 26 : In our live ticker we will keep you on March 29, 2020 about all results of the runoff election between Martin Bayerstorfer (CSU, 48.9 percent in the first ballot) and Hans Schreiner (FW / SPD / Greens, 16, 0 percent) up to date.

Erding - All three unite the insight that one alone would not make it. Her main goal: Bayerstorfer has to go, her style and the rough tone in the district politics disturb her enormously.

In terms of content, the FW, SPD and Greens want to remain independent - a not uncontroversial balancing act. Hans Schreiner himself is only a candidate for the district administrator , not on the list. If the 62-year-old is defeated, his political career ends because he also stops as mayor .

On the outside, the CSU is relaxed, but it knows that it could be tight if a runoff is possible on March 29 . Bayerstorfer is nominated in July. The ranks are closed: for the first time, the Hohenpoldinger receives 100 percent of the delegate votes.

AfD Erding with its own candidate: Rainer Forster starts

The AfD leaves it open for a long time whether it sends a district council candidate into the race. On November 9, district chairman Wolfgang Kellermann lets the cat out of the bag: Rainer Forster competes against carpenters and Bayerstorfer. The busy Kirchberger has had a steep career at the AfD.

On February 15, the ÖDP throws Forster out of the faction - because of its proximity to the right. Then he leaves the ÖDP. First, the shot member announces that he will continue as a party-free district councilor. But then he joins the AfD without being a member.
