Maltz-Schwarzfischer has represented Joachimg Wolbergs as mayor since his suspension in 2017. A poll before the local elections in Regensburg originally saw him as a candidate in the runoff election.
Wolbergs is on trial for suspected corruption . The 49-year-old achieved third place in the OB election with 17.71 percent . After announcing this result, he told journalists that his aim was to run the ballot.
