Update of March 26 : In eight municipalities in the district of Ebersberg there is a mayor runoff * in the municipal election . The appointment is Sunday March 29th, 2020 . Below are the candidates and their result (as a percentage of the votes cast) from the March 15 vote:

  • Ebersberg : Ulrich Proske (SPD) with 46.8 percent - Alexander Gressierer (CSU) with 30.8 percent
  • Grafing : Angelika Obermayr (Greens) with 43.6 percent - Christian Bauer (CSU) with 43.2 percent
  • Moosach : Michael Eisenschmid (CSU / Moosacher Bürger) with 49.5 percent - Norbert Probul (UWG / AMB) with 33.7 percent
  • Egmating : Inge Heiler (ABE) with 49.2 percent - Ernst Eberherr (CSU / FWG) with 39.5 percent
  • Vaterstetten : Leonhard Spitzauer (CSU) with 39.1 percent - Maria Wirnitzer (SPD) with 27.8 percent
  • Poing : Thomas Stark (CSU) with 35.1 percent - Reinhard Tonollo (SPD) with 33.1 percent

Local elections in the district of Ebersberg: Mayor candidates from all municipalities

District of Ebersberg - However, an exciting election campaign is underway in many municipalities. Some incumbent mayors are no longer running for the upcoming election. Walter Brilmayer (CSU) is leaving the Ebersberg town hall after more than two decades. Five candidates want his post, including 24-year-old Alexander Gressierer (CSU) and Ebersberg's 2nd Mayor Toni Ried (FW).

There will also be new mayors in Vaterstetten, Poing, Anzing, Markt Schwaben, Steinhöring and Moosach. It will be particularly exciting there.

Mayor election 2020: Vaterstetten

In 2020 a new mayor will be elected in Vaterstetten. It is about the successor of incumbent Georg Reitsberger (free voter), who is not allowed to run for office after a term of office. Roland Meier will be his successor when it comes to the free voters. The CSU sends fire chief Leonhard Spitzauer into the race. Maria Wirnitzer is the mayor candidate of the SPD. Klaus Willenberg will start for the FDP and David Göhler for the Greens.

Mayor election 2020: Kirchseeon

The CSU in Kirchseeon sends Jan Paeplow into the race. It was a bumpy start for him, because the mayor candidate faced resistance in the town council. Domenico Ciccia is the candidate of the Kirchseeon Social Democrats. The Kirchseeon Greens chose their mayor candidate Andrea Oberhauser-Hainer.
