Munich - In the runoff election on 29.3. is elected again in many places in Bavaria. Because in the first ballot on March 15. no candidate for mayor has won an absolute majority of votes in several hundred municipalities. That is why there will be a second ballot on Sunday. We have all the results of the 2020 municipal election in Bavaria from both ballots. There are now 270 runoff election results.
Runoff elections 2020 in Bavaria: results of the mayoral elections in the interactive map
From the first ballot, you can now find more than 99% of the election results on our interactive voting card. You can also select any congregation as usual on the run-off election evening. If there was a runoff election, you will find in addition to the result from 15.3. also the new runoff result. This way you can see at a glance where in Bavaria which candidate from which list or party was elected new mayor. 270 new runoff results are available.
Why were not all results available in real time? Many communities do not submit the results electronically. And of the municipalities that transmit their results electronically, many have opted for different variants. We therefore ask for your understanding if one or the other result appears a little later on the map. There are several possible election outputs that we prepare for you. Each result shows whether one of the candidates was elected or whether a runoff was necessary. If one of the more unlikely special cases of Bavarian electoral law occurs, for example a lottery decision, you will also find a note on the interactive map . Presentation of the election results of all mayors in Bavaria - including runoff election
As soon as a result is finally determined, the respective municipal area is shown in color . The color depends on the party affiliation of the winning candidate. If there was no winner in the first ballot, a runoff election was necessary and the community appears dark gray on the map. The result will be updated automatically on March 29.
An individual coloring by party takes place for all parties that received at least 0.5 percent of the vote in the 2019 European election * in Bavaria. In all other cases, the color light pink is used throughout the card. In this case, too, the result is shown in detail and with the full names of the candidates for mayor.
Operation of the interactive map
In the interactive map, you can click on each community to see the results. If you zoom in on the map, the names of the individual communities appear. There are plus and minus buttons within the graphic for zooming . Alternatively, you can press the CTRL key and zoom with the mouse wheel. On smartphones and tablets, you can drag the view larger or smaller with two fingers.
