Last updated: 2020-03-30 15:13In the "Lennon Tunnel" outside the MTR Tai Po Station, last October when a local youth distributed a procession leaflet, they were suspected of being chopped off their necks by young people from the Mainland, and then stabbed until their bowels overflowed. Mainland youth surrendered on the same day and were charged with one count of intentional injury. The case was re-opened in Fanling Magistracy today (30th). The prosecution changed the charge for attempted murder, and the defendant did not need to answer for the time being. Acting Chief Magistrate Su Wenlong deferred the case until May 4 and handled the referral to the High Court in the Eastern Magistracy.
Defendant Liu Guosheng (22 years old, reported to the chef) came to Hong Kong with a two-way permit at the time of the incident. The prosecution has amended the charges, saying that on October 19 last year, he tried to murder Xiong Jiawei at the entrance of Yayun Road, Tai Po, near the MTR Tai Po Market Station. The defendant did not apply for bail and continued to return.
