Since the beginning of this year, the Tuen Mun Police District has noticed an increase in the participation of young people in crime activities, including attacks, wounding, burglary, robbery, etc. On the other hand, officers have also discovered that incidents such as party formation and bullying in the district's youth have attracted public attention In view of this, the police launched an 8-day "Taiying Operation" to take intelligence-led action against youth criminal activities, especially targeting the crimes of the Youth Street Party. In addition to arrests and prosecutions during the operation, support services were also provided for the arrested youngsters. After the crime was committed, referrals and support were provided to the youngsters to strengthen their awareness of law compliance and return to the track as soon as possible.

Inspector Sheng Weiren of the first team of the Tuen Mun Police District Anti-Triad Operation Group said that the entire operation can be divided into two phases. The first phase is mainly to collect information on juvenile delinquency activities and to abet young people behind them, such as collective bullying, Criminal damage, indecent assault, etc.

After intelligence analysis, the police arrested a total of 60 people across the territory, including 32 men and 28 women, aged between 12 and 49. The remaining 56 arrested persons were released on bail pending further investigation.

Two of the drug cases were suspected to be dedicated to entertaining young people to take drugs. In the drug case that was detected, the police found that the criminals were soliciting young people on social media and selling them drugs. After the two sides negotiated the price, the criminals would deliver the drugs to the other party in a drug fast food truck.

During the operation, the police also conducted high-profile patrols at 23 entertainment venues and crime black spots in the area.
