Sham Shui Po Police District Special Duty Squad officers and Sham Shui Po Police District Anti-Triad Operation Team conducted intelligence raids against illegal gambling operations yesterday morning (29th) at 9 am and conducted a raid on Sham Shui Po District and Mong Kok District Units on Nanchang Street, Fuk Wa Street and Nathan Road, respectively, smashed four suspected illegal fishing machine gambling stalls.
During the operation, the police arrested a total of 28 persons, aged between 25 and 57. Among them, two men aged 39 and 41 were arrested for "money laundering"; 6 men and 1 woman were arrested for "operating gambling establishments"; 4 men and 4 women were arrested for "managing gambling establishments"; another 4 men 1 Females between the ages of 25 and 57 were arrested for "possessing offensive weapons" while the rest were arrested for "gambling in gambling establishments".
During the operation, the police seized 18 electronic game machines, a batch of game cards, card readers, gambling money of about 100,000 yuan, telescopic batons, softball bats and golf clubs. All arrested persons are being detained for investigation.
