LIVE- Coronavirus: "The summer holidays will be maintained", assures Jean-Michel Blanquer

" Yes there will be a bin, and I guarantee that the students of Terminal will not be harmed, " insisted the Minister of National Education. Concerning the modalities of the examination, the Minister raised doubts: " there will necessarily be a dose of continuous monitoring, the question is: how far do we put the cursor? "Said the Minister.

Jean-Michel Blanquer argued that the use of continuous monitoring would ensure " a real month of June in progress ". This solution would free up the rooms usually arranged for holding exams, so that all high school students can go to class.

A hoped-for return to class on May 4

" A return to class on May 4 is the preferred scenario but we will settle on what is happening, warned the Minister, the peak of the epidemic will have to be behind us ". Jean-Michel Banquer recalled that nothing could be fixed today, and that a decision would be made during the month of April depending on the evolution of the epidemic. " It is a scenario compatible with what has been said by the health authorities, he reassures, however, I hope and I continue to hope that it will be possible ".

The Minister also had a word for the teachers and all those who continue to run distance education. " It fits in one word: '' thank you '', he summed up . Jean-Jacques Goldman said it better than I did, but I would like to say "thank you ". Jean-Michel Blanquer maintained his commitment to increase the salaries of teachers. " The professor must be prestigious and well paid ," he said. " On top of that, I don't deviate an inch ."
