For the CSU, 54-year-old Martin Bayerstorfer is the incumbent district administrator for the CSU. He has been a district administrator since 2002. The 62-year-old Hans Schreiner from the Free Voters, who is also supported by the SPD and the Greens, is a candidate. Rainer Forster (44), who left the ÖDP last year, is applying for the AfD.

Result of the district council election in Erding

The Erding district council has had 60 members since the 2014 municipal elections. The largest groups are currently the CSU and Free Voters with 28 and 12 seats, respectively, followed by the SPD with eight seats. According to the law, the district council is responsible for deciding on the "important matters of the district administration" and "monitors the entire district administration".
