According to state data, this is the first child to die in a country where 705 deaths have been recorded as a result of the Corona virus. Until this case, the youngest child in Europe who died of the virus was Vittor Gudhino, a 14-year-old from Portugal who died on Sunday this week after being infected.

Also, last week Julie Elliot, just 16, died at a hospital in Paris, France, and is the youngest victim in the country. Also, she had no background illnesses and her death shocked the doctors and her family. Elliot Menon's sister said, "Julie was a loved one, and she loved life when she danced and made people laugh."

For the most part, children with the virus are only slightly injured, but as you can see, there are exceptional and unfortunate cases. A study published in the journal Pediatrics, which surveyed 2,100 children who were ill in Corona, found less than six percent of them were severely affected by the disease. Belgium's death toll crossed the 500 mark yesterday.

Also, about 12,000 cases of infection have been reported so far. The closure in Belgium will continue right up to the government's decision until April 18, to prevent widespread infection, but it may well be extended.
