South Korean authorities revealed today that they are trying to track down people who have been in close contact with 487 people who follow a church in Seoul and their acquaintances, which raises concerns about new mass injury hotspots in the densely populated capital.
The Yonhap news agency quoted the authorities as saying: It has tracked at least 35 cases of the new Corona virus associated with a church in Seoul as well as their families and co-workers.
The authorities' announcement raised fears that the number of cases previously announced may increase with the rapid increase in the number of church-related cases since the first injury was reported last Wednesday.
It is noteworthy that the Church held its services via the Internet since early March, but some of its members held meetings to shoot and produce videos over the Internet, according to city officials.
The latest cases are emerging as a new focus of infection in Seoul, which has a population of 10 million, after nearly 100 other cases at a communications center in Guru.
The number of cases in the capital so far reached 450 confirmed cases, while the total number of cases in the country was 9,800.
