Dax turns into the minus

Previously, unexpectedly robust Chinese economic data had provided support. Recently, however, negative guidelines from the US stock market put pressure on the mood.

The Dax was unable to keep the 10,000 point mark that morning and lost all of its plus. Most recently, the leading index was 0.32 percent lower at 9784.55 points. This indicates a loss of around 26 percent for the Dax in the first quarter.

The MDax of medium-sized stocks, on the other hand, gained 0.99 percent to 20,855.39 points. The EuroStoxx 50 as the leading index of the euro zone lost around 0.5 percent.

Bayer shares lost initial profits completely and fell 0.4 percent into the red. Bayer has reached a settlement with US class plaintiffs in a legal dispute over the allegedly misleading marketing of weed killers with the controversial active ingredient glyphosate.

Thanks to an optimistic outlook, Hellofresh's shares soared by more than 12 percent. The cookbox supplier cemented its reputation as the winner of the corona crisis.

After a price increase of almost 9 percent in early trading, the Varta shares turned negative and recently lost 2.7 percent. The battery manufacturer had given final figures for 2019 and a confident outlook for 2020.

The construction software provider Nemetschek is cautious but confident in the new financial year in view of the corona virus pandemic. The Nemetschek titles advanced by around 5 percent.

On the bond market, the current yield rose from minus 0.51 percent the previous day to minus 0.47 percent. The Rex index rose 0.26 percent to 145.12 points. The Bund future stagnated at 172.88 points.

The euro cost $ 1.0966 in the afternoon. The previous day, the European Central Bank (ECB) set the reference rate at $ 1.1034.
