Penzberg - There is jubilation in the Penzberger CSU after Stefan Korpan's clear victory in the mayoral runoff election. "We are incredibly proud of our team, which started three years ago," said CSU boss Nick Lisson on Monday - three years ago, the Penzberger CSU had split. They also cheered, says Lisson, because Maria Probst is moving up to the city council. This week, according to Lisson, the first talks with the other political groups will follow "to probe where there are commonalities and where commonalities can be created".
Korpans victory in runoff election: CSU cheers, supporters relieved
Korpan's supporters from the other factions did not expect a victory of this amount. For Kerstin Engel (Greens) it was “uncertain who will win the race”. She feels "no malicious joy", but is "incredibly relieved". It is now exciting to see how Stefan Korpan develops in office, but she is "good hope that it will be a better cooperation". Markus Bocksberger (Penzberg together) sees the "nice result" as a "clear election order that we all have to implement together". The will to vote is clear, said Armin Jabs (BfP). "We are happy that there will be a change." He was satisfied with the result.
FLP criticism after the election campaign: tasteless
Michael Kühberger and Stefan Fuchs from the FLP, who had not made any election recommendations, wished Stefan Korpan "good luck and success" and thanked Elke Zehetner "for the last six years of cooperation". They also describe it as "tasteless", "how the BfP draws about Ms. Zehetner".
SPD calls defeat bitter and wishes Korpan "happy hand"
SPD leader Bayram Yerli described it as "bitter" that the SPD lost the mayor's office after the 100th year of the city survey. "As a sad but good loser," one would like to congratulate Stefan Korpan on the election victory, "and wish him a happy hand as mayor, especially in this difficult time." The election result, Yerli writes, needs a thorough analysis. However, it is "very surprising" for him, because the city is in an excellent position, said Yerli in a written statement. The SPD, he explained, had conducted a "fair election campaign" without a personal attack. On the other hand, he accuses "some political opponents" of unsubstantiated claims, half-truths and dirty campaigns. He also criticizes the reporting. Yerli said that Zehetner gave everything for the city and its citizens. The SPD could hand over the city "in dazzling condition" to the new mayor and city council and would "continue to work with all our might for our city".
