The President of the National Assembly set up a fact-finding mission to monitor the coronavirus crisis on Wednesday, which will evolve into a parliamentary committee of inquiry. The Prime Minister and the Minister of Health will be the first to be heard.
LE FIGARO. - What is the current assessment of the number of people in the Assembly contaminated by the Coronavirus?
Richard FERRAND. - There are around twenty infected deputies, two of whom are in a worrying state. Others are cured, some experience severe symptoms but are not, to my knowledge, in danger. The number of staff is roughly equivalent.
How does the Assembly work during the time of confinement?
No physical meetings, everything is done by video or audio conference. Almost all MPs' officials and staff are teleworked. The committees are continuing their work, particularly on this crisis, with technical constraints which do not facilitate the fluidity of exchanges.
