(CNN) - Federal agents in San Diego seized nearly 1,995 kilos of drugs in a sophisticated smuggling tunnel that extended to Tijuana, Mexico, California authorities announced Tuesday.

The 91-centimeter-wide tunnel is more than 609 meters long and has reinforced walls, ventilation, lighting, and a rail system, according to a statement from the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Service. It had an average depth of 9.4 meters.

The tunnel linked a winery in the Otay Mesa sector of San Diego with another in Tijuana.

Authorities found about 1,995 kilos of drugs in the tunnel.

Authorities found 589 kilos of cocaine, 39 kilos of methamphetamine, 7.7 kilos of heroin, 1,360 kilos of marijuana and nearly one kilogram of fentanyl in the tunnel, according to the statement. Drugs have a street value of $ 29.6 million.

Agents estimated that the tunnel had been in use for several months, according to the statement.
