Enough to hate, with one of us - the plague and the aftermath

Rabbi David Lowe

The so familiar feeling of "it won't happen to me" finds itself painfully coping with growing numbers of adherents, forcing those responsible to tighten quarantine guidelines to try and slow down the spread of the disease.

There are people known as the "Western Wall" people, those Jerusalemites who, in any weather, in any condition or condition, will not give up praying at the Western Wall, saying the Psalms in this holy and special place. There are also the people of Meron, those who will never give up prayer in Rashbi's tomb.

These are few and unique. But there are many special people in all the Diaspora who will never give up quorum prayer in the synagogue. You can call them synagogues, you can call them the "first / second quorum worshipers". But not the nickname states but the reality that their oxygen is a quorum. This is the synagogue, this is hearing Kaddish, reading the Torah, this is the spiritual food without which their lives are not alive.

And here they were cut off. For the sake of their lives. Those who do not live it will not understand how difficult the decree is. True, a observant Jew is required to understand that even if he is used to a cup of coffee in the morning, but on Taanit you will not. That even if he wants to write something, but it won't be done on Saturdays and holidays.

The same is true for his life and those around him, he is not required to pray in a synagogue as he is, but to stand alone - for the first time in decades! - Facing his Creator, realizing that he is not alone, but Gdio with him. "Also, because I will go down the mountain not be bad because you are mine." Here, man is asked to increase the power of faith within him and to live his life as required. Because just so, just so, he could pray for many more years, with his family and friends around him.

It is also time to discover creativity and find ways to reach others. I am disturbed by the remoteness that adults feel from their children and grandchildren, and hope that everyone will make an effort to reach them in accordance with instructions on the phone, etc. and not neglect, despite the difficulty.

But I am also deeply disturbed by the remoteness created in Israeli society and the fact that so many energies could have been directed to ways of increasing the assistance, assistance and connection between the people, we are busy finding the margins that violate instructions, which are harmful to their environment and that bring bad names to those who look like them.

There is every society, but after hate-filled election campaigns, the Corona was excited about us, and the hostilities returned and forget the basic fact: One citizen of us all, with one of us, and on this piece of land we will continue to live together even after the Corona epidemic.

So please remember this even while it is in full swing.

Next week we will celebrate the birthday of the Jewish people - Seder. A night celebrated by the vast majority of the Jewish people. We will try to reach him as brothers. responsible for one another. That way we can wish for a merry Christmas.
