Due to the current Corona location, it is not yet certain whether the planned special exhibition of the Karlsfeld Museum of Local History can take place.

  • Due to Corona, the Karlsfeld Heimatmuseum is closed.
  • Therefore, it is not yet certain whether the planned special exhibition can take place.
  • But there are also good news: Some innovations have been implemented in the rooms of the permanent exhibitions.

Karlsfeld - Naturally, the Karlsfeld Heimatmuseum in the Old Town Hall is closed until further notice due to the current Corona crisis - just like all other areas where people can meet and get infected.

The general meeting originally planned for April with the election of the new board and the cash report for the 2019 museum year has been postponed until further notice. Everything was already prepared for the general meeting, including reports from the board and information about the activities of the local museum.

Here is a brief review: The activities in 2019 included the special exhibitions "Construction boom in the Karlsfeld of the 50s", "Round success stories" with a look back at 80 years of the political community of Karlsfeld and the birthdays of many Karlsfeld clubs, participation in the settler pageant and the traditional Christmas exhibition with the many loans from Karlsfeld citizens, rounded off with the popular photo review of the year.

Possible cancellation due to Corona: Special exhibition in the Karlsfeld Heimatmuseum

The previously prepared special exhibition "For games and sports - there is something going on, big and small", which should start on International Museum Day, May 17, may also be affected by a cancellation or postponement. Current information on this will be announced.

In time for the restriction due to the corona pandemic to come into effect, significant changes could be made in the rooms of the permanent exhibitions. The lighting was switched to new LED spotlights to replace the old lamps that had been used for years in the former library in the basement of the town hall. Community employees helped with the installation of the new light rails, which allow flexible lighting accents. Three large glass showcases were also purchased to clearly record various existing exhibits.

Curator Ilsa Oberbauer is waiting for the end of the corona restrictions

The team from the Karlsfeld Museum of Local History is waiting with the curator Ilsa Oberbauer for the end of the corona restrictions and wishes all friends of the museum good health. Further information is available on the website at www.heimatmuseum-karlsfeld.de.
