After 30 years in the municipal council, Michael Lampl has given up. The 56-year-old farmer made the decision not easy.

Pfaffenhofen - "I thought about it for a long time. But at some point you have to say yes or no, ”explains Lampl. He had communicated his decision to his list colleagues (CSU / PF) more than a year ago.

When Lampl was elected to the municipal council straight away at the age of 26, he first had to learn patience. "As a young person, everything should go quickly," he recalls with a smile. Over time, he not only learned to be patient and "have a staying power", but also to get the other councilors excited about his ideas. He sees a great success of his work in the realization of the bypass road Pfaffenhofen / Egenburg. "I thought I would not experience that," he says honestly.

Politics was in Michael Lampl's blood. His father was already on the town council, when Pfaffenhofen was still part of the administrative community with Odelzhausen and Sulzemoos. The VG was then dissolved by the end of 2016. He had been on the town council for almost two decades. Lampl fondly remembers this turning point. "Until then, we were a sleeper community on the far corner of the district," says the farmer.

However, constructive work had already been done with the inauguration of Helmut Zech 18 years ago. Population growth and trade tax revenue would also have made the financial situation so "well structured" today.

But why stop now, when everything is going so well? And why now, when the children are now big, as his wife Annemarie, the founder and boss of the farm shop, interjects with a wink. “Some people just can't let go, and the older you get, the more difficult it becomes,” explains Lampl. That's why he now wants to let the youth in. One of his three children, 28-year-old Stefan, who also became a farmer, wants to do just that. When he was nominated for the first time, he was promptly elected by the Pfaffenhofeners to the town council. He is only two years older than his father in his first legislative period.

Andreas Riedlberger will also not continue. Since 2008, the 45-year-old has been on the CSU / party-free list in the Pfaffenhofen municipal council. "I will definitely miss that," says the mechanical engineer. As the technical manager of a light alloy wheel manufacturer, Riedlberger is very busy at work and often travels abroad. That does not fit with his view of getting involved reliably in the local council, "otherwise I would surely have run again," summarizes the father of two.

Local politics has always been an issue in the family at Riedlberger: Grandpa Xaver was the mayor and Papa Xaver was the municipal councilor. "I have always been interested in local events," he says. And also engaged in the village, starting with the boys' association and fire brigade, later in the church administration. Andreas Riedlberger immediately entered the committee in 2008. At that time he was still working on site and was able to combine job, family and volunteer work well. Which is no longer possible now. "But if it would be easier professionally, I would have myself set up again", Andreas Riedlberger says.

When asked what was the personal highlight of his time as a councilor, the answer came quickly: "That we brought the administration to Pfaffenhofen" (after leaving the administrative community with Odelzhausen and Sulzemoos). "I am deeply convinced that this was the right way to go," says Riedlberger.
