Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced compulsory confinement for people under the age of 20 from midnight Friday, tightening measures to stem the accelerating epidemic of new coronavirus in Turkey.
Vehicles will also no longer be allowed to enter or exit in 31 cities, including Istanbul and Ankara, for 15 days, said Erdogan during a TV address. The over 65s and the chronically ill were already subject to compulsory confinement.
