Russia announced Friday that it will suspend all flights to and from the country, including the repatriation of nationals, in an effort to limit the risk of a new wave of infections with the new coronavirus. The coronavirus operations center said the suspension applied to all special flights intended to repatriate Russian nationals or to bring foreign nationals back to their countries of origin. Special authorization must be requested from Saturday for those who still wish to fly.

Moscow has announced that a budget of $ 6.5 million has been made available to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to finance the extended stay of nationals stranded abroad.
Previously, only scheduled international commercial flights had been suspended.
Russia has reported 4,149 confirmed cases of contamination and 34 deaths related to Covid-19.
