The head of the Italian Higher Institute of Health, Silvio Prozaviero, said that there is no scientific evidence that the emerging Corona virus will remain in the air for a while.
"There is currently no evidence that the new Corona virus is circulating in the air" adding "at the present time, scientific papers indicate that the main ways of spreading," Prozaviero was quoted by Italian news agency Aki as saying during a press conference today. The virus circulates through droplets from the nose or mouth and through direct contact between one person and another.
He stressed the need to maintain a high-level commitment to sanitary isolation recommendations and restrictions to limit the spread of the virus.
Italy is the first country in the world in terms of the number of deaths from the Corona virus by about 14 thousand cases and the second in terms of the general outcome of those infected with more than 115 thousand cases.
