Police arrested two students involved in the case and arrested another student in the nearby park. The three were charged with arson and assaulting the police, and were detained to Tuen Mun Magistrates' Courts today (3rd). No defense is required for the time being. The case was postponed until next month, where he defended himself at the Fanling Court pending the police's verification of the verdict and analysis of the defendant's mobile phone. The defendants were refused bail and are awaiting hearing.
The three defendants attended the same middle school. They were Zeng Huaxun, Luo Niefeng, an 18-year-old middle-five student, and a 16-year-old middle-school student with a surname of Guo. The three were also charged with one count of arson, saying that they had not reasonably justified burning a wall and a gate belonging to the government outside the Tai Po Police Station on April 1 with the intention of damaging property or regardless of whether the property would be damaged. Zeng and Luo were each charged with one count of assaulting a police officer, claiming that they attacked Sergeant X and Senior Police Officer Y on the same day and in the same place.
It is understood that the time of the incident was around 2:30 in the morning. The prosecution alleged that Sergeant X saw someone throwing a petrol bomb, and together with Senior Police Officer Y rushed out of the police uniform Zeng and Luo during the attack. Guo was arrested more than an hour later in a perfect park 500 meters away. Zeng and Luo were pointed at the police station and threw two petrol bombs. The CCTV of the police station also filmed another man throwing a petrol bomb, but could not identify his appearance. The 16-year-old defendant stated that although he was in the same school as the other two defendants, he did not attend the same level and did not know the other party.
