HBO Max, the new content platform for Warnermedia 2:15
(CNN) - Before the launch of the streaming service HBO Max, HBO seeks to facilitate social distancing by making 500 hours of free programming available for a limited time, under the title #StayHomeBoxOffice.
The promotion begins April 3 and will include free streaming of series like "The Sopranos," "The Wire" and "Veep," as well as HBO documentaries and a variety of Warner Bros movies. Many of these movies are aimed at children or a family audience, such as "Pokemon Detective Pikachu", "Smallfoot" and "The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part".

The programming will be available for consumption without a subscription on HBO Now and HBO Go.
Other series included in the promotion are "Succession", "Barry", "Silcon Valley" and "Ballers", as well as previous titles like "True Blood" and "Six Feet Under".
The launch of HBO Max, the company's streaming company, is scheduled for May. HBO, Warner Bros. and CNN are all units of WarnerMedia.
Various entertainment companies have juggled their release dates to serve the large audience looking for something to watch while being ordered to stay home due to the coronavirus pandemic.
For its part, TNT, another WarnerMedia network, announced that it will delay two weeks, until May 17, the premiere of "Snowpiercer", the dystopian science fiction series based on the film by "Parasite" director Bong Joon Ho .
