Created in 2011, the Basque brand March LA.B dedicates a watchmaking vintage to its month of birth.

Which watch brand can boast of having been on the wrist of the current Élysée tenant twice? The one launched in 2011 by Alain Marhic, in charge in his previous life, worldwide, of the watches and glasses division of Quiksilver. After a March LA.B AM69 Electric Steel, Emmanuel Macron is now wearing a Mansart Grall, made in France.

An octagonal 34 mm piece, with an astonishing and elegant case inspired by the aesthetic codes of the forerunner of 17th century French architecture, Jules Hardouin-Mansart, who dedicated his life to the search for the perfect shape. with the scent of surf and California breathes on these watches with an atypical name. “When we imagined these models, with their seventies side, we did this because we liked the style of those years, says this father of four. And that's what people want today. The trend has caught up with us. ” Why such a passion for the month of March? “I was born in March; I took two years to develop the brand, before launching it in March 2011, and even my granddaughter was just born in March, says the designer, based in Biarritz. From now on, we will offer a watchmaking vintage for each March. ”

For this first limited edition of 50 pieces, also sold online, Alain Marhic has remained faithful to green, the signature color of the house. Its Mansart Millésime Mars 2020 therefore features a lacquered green dial highlighted with guilloche black. Water-resistant to 50 m and fitted with a screwed back, it has an automatic movement.
