New York-SANA
New York State Governor Andrew Como announced today that the state experienced the highest number of deaths in a day due to the Corona virus, with 562 additional deaths recorded across the state, bringing the total number of deaths to 2,935.
Reuters reported that Como warned in a statement today that "people will die in the short term due to the lack of respirators and hospital beds," calling for the payment of resources to New York to help the state in its growing crisis.
Como noted that the jump recorded in the number of deaths is a precedent since the outbreak of the virus began in the state.
For his part, White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow said in an interview with "Bloomberg" TV today that the United States "is suffering in the light of a very painful economic downturn," adding that there is no doubt that the economic effects of the Corona virus pandemic will worsen in the coming weeks.
The US Johns Hopkins University announced earlier today that the United States has recorded about 1,200 additional deaths from the virus during the past 24 hours in the worst daily toll recorded in any country.
