During a raid on a hotel in the building, about 2 kg of suspected cocaine, 1.7 kg of methamphetamine and 300 grams of suspected heroin, the total value of drugs is about 3 million. Three foreign nationals were arrested during the operation, aged between 33 and 43. All of them held "street paper" and reported being unemployed. Yang Junhao, senior inspector of the third A team of the Detective Action Group, said that the capsule drug was seized during the operation. It is believed that the group used people to hide drugs in the body to transport drugs from overseas to Hong Kong.
Police believe that a drug syndicate active in the area has been dismantled during the operation, using hotel rooms as drug distribution centres. Police appealed that, under the Dangerous Drugs Ordinance, trafficking in dangerous drugs is a serious crime and is liable on conviction to a maximum fine of $ 5 million and life imprisonment.
