So that young skaters and children with their kick scooters can safely use the skate park at the fire station in Brucker West, it was decided two years ago to expand the facility. Now the project is picking up speed.
Fürstenfeldbruck– Kathrin Zifreund of Urban Planning brought the committee members up to date in the latest committee for integration, social affairs, youth and sport.
An amount of EUR 200,000 is earmarked for enlargement. In April, the city tendered the construction across Germany. "We expect the offers at the end of May," said Zifreund. If the right provider is included, construction should start in late summer. Mayor Erich Raff wanted to know from Zifreund whether the young people were also involved in the planning for the expansion. The city planner was able to confirm that. "We held a workshop in which the opinions of the children and young people and the expertise of skater experts were incorporated into the concept development."
An expansion of the skater park was necessary because the course is too difficult for beginners and newcomers. Parents complained after a few accidents, forcing the city to act.
